Hey there, hawk. I don’t even know what week of school this is, I lost count. I think we are on week seven. This past week was our first Hawk Football Club (FC) meeting and it was awesome other than the fact that the ball knocked the wind out of me. It was a really good turnout. We got a cooler and had drinks for the players. At first we were a little worried no one would show up, but more than 20 people came, pretty good for our first meeting. President Helen Nguyen has done a great job at organizing everything. Freshmen power. I met many new people and learned some new soccer skills. The players are very talented, and it makes me wonder why there was never a soccer club before Hawk FC.
Before Hawk FC started this past Friday, I also played some tennis during my break with some other fellow hawks. The rallies were intense. The weather was perfect to play both of these wonderful sports. I love the fall weather because it reminds me of my childhood. It’s such a great feeling. It felt really good to play the sport I love again. Perfect weather like this brings me hope that the weather will be even colder, hopefully. Texas, please don’t mess with my feelings. It’s time to bring out all those sweaters we store even though in December we can use shorts still. Oh, Texas you and your weather. Speaking of fall, Super Smash Bros 3DS came out this past Friday, and man, have I been procrastinating even more because of that. The game is super addictive. I can’t seem to put it down. College students need breaks too, which is why I take them very frequently. I still manage to study and finish all my work; I just manage them in to my everyday routine. I feel a bit more confident about my classes now after I took my first tests. Studying really paid off. The Math Center really paid off. Man oh man have I had many problems with History but I think I’m getting the hang of it, sort of. The textbook is boring, and it makes it hard to read. Reading a history textbook should be one of my skills I put on my resume because that’s quite challenging. The semester is almost halfway done. I’m try to hang in there and then after this only seven more semesters to go and some summer classes but other than that I’m one step closer to graduating as a Hawk. One tip I’ve learned from my experience as a college freshman is that breakfast is very important. If I don’t eat I’ll be daydreaming about food the whole day. Doesn’t matter if it’s a banana or a chocolate shake, putting something in my stomach really make me feel energized for education. How has college affected all you freshman Hawks?
